About

I will be posting a ton of live recordings from concerts soon! Everything from Hall & Oates to Iron Maiden! I will also be posting many concerts from bands that are not widely known or are local to the Phoenix area. If you like what you hear on these live recordings, I hope you’ll support the bands and buy a record/cd/download/t-shirt or go to one of their concerts in person! You gotta support them!

As a matter of convenience all files will be converted to mp3. I apologize for this, and can’t believe I’m doing it. But if you’d like them in FLAC format contact me. I’m not even sure people care enough most of the time to bother… I have started uploading all new concerts in both mp3 and FLAC formats. I will also be posting the FLAC files for previous concerts as I find time to.

I realize I’m not posting these concerts in any sort of order. It’s all based on my preferences at the time. A good amount of the shows I post haven’t been distributed, or in some cases, even heard by anyone other than me. Which is why I’m doing this blog in the first place. So, my point, don’t expect any chronological order, genere grouping, or any fancy pants scheme to keep things in order.

NOTE TO ARTISTS:

If you would like the recording of your band removed from this site please contact me- thenighthidesnot@gmail.com

  1. Thanks for posting At The Gates lossless! Saw the show in SF the previous night. Did you also record Repulsion?

    • Yes, I did! Thanks for reminding me. I keep forgetting to post it… That will be my next post.

  2. I dig what your are doing… bands should embrace this type of exposure (specially independent bands)… sometimes bands forget that a lot of people don’t have access to their shows because they live in remote places…

What type of recorder do you use? … have you ever had problems at the venue?

    • Thanks man! Sometimes it seems like all this work just kind of goes unappreciated, but then I remember I would be recording anyways :) Thanks for your comments. I’ve never had any problems with bands or venues. But I’m not very obvious about what I’m doing either…

  3. Hello! Big Thanks for many shows you taped!
Can you tell, what you used to tape Dimmu Borgir 2010-12-02?
    Thank you

    • I used the same equipment (minus the pre-amp) that I use at every concert- ST-11 > R09 (24-bit/48kHz) The ST-11 mics are Church Audio cardioids. They were plugged straight into the Edirol R-09. The sound at the Dimmu concert was really well mixed, and the venue has a great set-up, so that explains the higher quality recording. I’m happy to see there are some more metal fans finding this site! Enjoy!
